You may not know that for every time you play an artist’s song on Spotify, they get 1/3 of a penny!! For an artist to earn minimum wage for the year they need to make over 1.1 Million streams.
How the hell is a new and up and coming artist suppose to get to those numbers. How can an artist create and experiment when that’s the backing the industry gives them?
I’m very fortunate to have made a business away from my artist career, so I don’t have to rely on the £26.79 I get from Spotify each year (number plucked from sky, I have no idea what it is).
Because of this, I have decided to help a few charities instead. Because its “for charity”, a few more people will listen to my music (and you thought I was daft) and I get to raise some monies for good causes, winner winner chicken or vegan dinner (you choose, I won’t judge).
The songs, the causes and the links are below, listen to some music and raise some cash with your ears.
